Are you ready to do things on a far bigger scale

Corporate Director of Growth

Salary: £98,388 - £108,033

You’ll play a defining role in leading the Council’s growth agenda – working closely with elected Members, and in partnership across North Essex to support successful and responsible economic development and place shaping.

This is a broad and influential role with a remit that includes:

  • Economic Development
  • Planning Policy
  • Development Management
  • Strategic Investment
  • Asset Management

You will also be one of three Corporate Directors on our Corporate Management Team so you can expect to play a highly visible leadership role across the organisation, and have the opportunity to contribute to the full range of the Council’s work, both internally as a Director to a large cohort of staff, and outside as an ambassador and advocate for our organisation and for Braintree.

It’s anticipated that you’ll have direct professional experience in some of the areas that you will lead. But what will really make the difference is the breadth of strategic vision to look across these services and ensure a cohesive and complementary approach to our growth strategy. You’ll need to reassure that you have managed substantial and complex regeneration and development projects, and that you have a highly developed understanding of the partnership and collaboration that underpins such work. You should be able to present credentials in leading cultural and organisational change, and that you have operated at a senior level in a political environment – either with elected members or other governance arrangements.
